Privacy Policy
Nottick is a notes, to-do and reminder app built to work entirely on your own device. This page explains, in plain terms, exactly what data the app touches and why.
01 Overview
Nottick does not have user accounts, sign-in, or a server that stores your notes. Your notes, checklists, voice memos and reminders are created and kept on your phone, in the app's local database, unless you explicitly share or export them yourself.
The only information that leaves your device is anonymous product-analytics data, described in Section 4. We do not run ads, we do not sell data, and we do not build advertising profiles.
02 Data kept on your device
The following is created by you while using the app and stored locally, in the app's private storage area:
- Notes and to-dos — titles, text, checklist items, due dates and colours, stored in a local SQLite database.
- Voice notes — audio recordings you make inside the app, saved as local audio files.
- Reminders — the schedule for local notifications the app fires at the times you choose.
- Calendar entries — if you enable calendar sync, Nottick mirrors your reminders into a dedicated calendar on your device so they also appear in your calendar app.
- Home-screen widget content — a copy of your current to-dos, rendered by the widget directly from local storage.
03 Permissions we ask for
Android requires apps to declare permissions up front. Here is what each one is used for, and whether it involves data leaving your device.
| Permission | Used for | Leaves device? |
|---|---|---|
| RECORD_AUDIO | Voice notes — recording audio memos you choose to make | No |
| READ_CALENDAR WRITE_CALENDAR |
Mirroring your reminders into a dedicated on-device calendar | No |
| POST_NOTIFICATIONS SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM |
Showing reminder notifications at the time you set | No |
| RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED | Re-registering reminders after your phone restarts | No |
| INTERNET ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE |
Sending anonymous analytics events (see Section 4) | Analytics only |
Nottick does not request an advertising ID, and does not use location, contacts, SMS, camera, photo-library, or file-storage permissions.
04 Analytics
Nottick uses Firebase Analytics (a Google service) to understand, in aggregate, how the app is used — for example, which screens are opened and how often the app crashes — so we can fix bugs and improve the app.
This data is pseudonymous (tied to an app-install identifier, not your name or account) and is processed by Google under its own privacy terms, available at policies.google.com/privacy. The content of your notes, voice memos and reminders is never sent as part of analytics.
06 Retention & deletion
Your notes, voice memos, reminders and calendar entries stay on your device for as long as you keep them or keep the app installed. You can delete individual items at any time inside the app.
To remove everything at once, uninstall the app — this clears the local database, cached audio files, and any calendar entries Nottick created. Analytics data associated with your install is retained by Google/Firebase according to Firebase's standard retention window, after which it is automatically deleted.
07 Children's privacy
Nottick is a general productivity tool not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will address it.
08 Security
Because your notes and recordings stay on-device, their security follows your device's own protections — screen lock, disk encryption, and OS-level app sandboxing provided by Android. We recommend keeping your device's lock screen enabled, since anyone with access to an unlocked device can open the app.
09 Your choices
Since Nottick has no server-side account, most privacy controls are already in your hands:
- Access & export — everything the app holds about you is visible inside the app itself.
- Deletion — delete items in-app, or uninstall to remove all local data at once.
- Permissions — revoke microphone, calendar, or notification access at any time in your device's Settings → Apps → Nottick → Permissions. The related feature will simply stop working until re-granted.
- Analytics opt-out — you can disable app-usage analytics for Nottick from your device's Settings → Google → Ads / Usage & diagnostics controls, or contact us to request exclusion.
10 Changes to this policy
If Nottick's data practices change — for example, if a future version adds cloud backup — we will update this page and revise the effective date above before the change ships.
